Current openings

KFTC is hiring! We are considering candidates for a Community Organizer position and an Organizer Apprentice position in southeastern Kentucky and Voter Empower staff positions across the state. 

Voter Empowerment Staff 

We are looking for progressive-minded folks who are interested in politics and want the opportunity to make a difference this election year. Both part-time and full-time positions are available in regions across Kentucky. Responsibilities include door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, volunteer management and data entry. The assigned tasks will depend on the needs of each KFTC region and the skills of the Voter Empowerment staff who are hired. The projected start date for these temporary positions is September 11, 2019. The positions are projected to end on November 8, 2019.

Madison County and Wilderness Trace Community Organizer

We are seeking an Organizer who will work with KFTC’s grassroots leaders and staff to strengthen our membership and local chapters in and around KFTC’s Madison County Chapter and Wilderness Trace Chapter. This person will implement outreach strategies to engage thousands of people around key issues, voting, and opportunities to take action. This position will be based in our Berea office.

Eastern Kentucky Community Organizer

We are seeking an Organizer who will work with KFTC’s grassroots leaders and staff to strengthen our membership and local chapters in eastern Kentucky. This person will implement outreach strategies to engage thousands of people around key issues, voting, and opportunities to take action. The preferred location for this position is London, Kentucky, but we will consider other eastern Kentucky locations.

Eastern Kentucky Organizer Apprentice

The Organizer Apprentice position is professional community organizing job and opportunity to learn community organizing skills as you are actively working in the field to build grassroots power. Apprenticeship positions offer structured skills training, support from a organizing coach, and other supplemental training opportunities. They are a great way to build your fundamental community organizing skills. The preferred location for the Organizer Apprentice position is London, Kentucky, although we will consider other locations in eastern Kentucky. The position will run for a maximum of 16-months, from August 1, 2019 to November 30, 2020.
