Mass Meeting and Community Dinner on the Green New Deal
On Saturday, May 11, hundreds of Kentuckians will converge in Frankfort for a mass meeting and community dinner on the Green New Deal. This event will serve as the Kentucky stop on the youth-led Sunrise Movement’s national Road to a Green New Deal speaking tour. KFTC, SEIU 32BJ (Service Employees International Union), and the Kentucky Student Environmental Coalition are anchoring the event as local partners. We’ll hear from political champions, community and movement leaders, and Kentuckians across the state about what the Green New Deal could mean to their communities.
Please join us on Saturday, May 11 at 7 p.m. in Frankfort. Before the event, local partners will offer a free dinner, starting at 5:30 p.m., to give you an opportunity meet and engage with diverse people from across Kentucky who are working to build a powerful movement for a Just Transition and a Green New Deal.
Attendance to both events is free, with donations encouraged–but you must reserve a spot by getting a ticket online. Seats at the dinner are limited to 200 and will go quickly! Get your tickets today, and invite your friends and family to come along too. Feel free to use the Facebook event for easy sharing.
