A night of Solidarity with Mountain Heroes

Come stand in solidarity with Appalachian heroes who are working courageously to protect their mountain communities against mountaintop removal coal extraction. Join us in calling on our president and government leaders to end mountaintop removal and protect Appalachian communities and families, whose health matters, too.

Solidarity has been the theme in the battle against extractive fossil fuels and climate change this summer, and that theme must continue into the fall! The use of fossil fuels must end, and we must all stand together and stand up for Appalachia.

For over a century, the people of Appalachia have known first-hand the effects of living in the wake of fossil fuel extraction that poisons their water, pollutes the air they breath, and transforms the mountains they love and call home into a ravaged barren landscape. As coal companies continue mining through an extreme process called mountaintop removal, Appalachian communities contend with increased flooding, poverty, and health issues.
