5th Annual Smoketown GetDown for Democracy

Smoketown residents and friends present the 5th Annual Smoketown GetDown for Democracy! Smoketown GetDown is a FREE block party powered by the people and open to the public with live entertainment and local food and beer.

Friday, September 14, 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
760 South Hancock Street, at the corner of Lampton and Hancock Street. 

The GetDown is a celebration of the Smoketown neighborhood's rich history and culture and will showcase the work of community groups and neighbors. The event features live performances, Smoketown organizations and businesses, voter registration, food trucks, local craft beer from West Sixth Brewing, and family-friendly activities, including:

Free Play Zone hosted by Children at Play Network
Photo Booth by Kertis Creative
Louisville Silent Disco
"Discover Our Past" self-guided walking tour created by The Wheelhouse Project in partnership with The Filson Historical Society

5:45pm: Mighty Shades of Ebony
6:30pm: Str8Diamonds Dance Team
7:15pm: Tim Tim, Von Gotti, & Soon Tonio
8:00pm: Junior Jackson & Piff the Dragon
9:00pm: GetDown Dance Party with Yared Sound & Gucch

Walking, biking or busing to the event is encouraged. Bicycle parking will be provided by Bicycling for Louisville, and the event is located near TARC routes 23 and 43. Street parking is available.
