Renter Evictions

Senate Bill Number:
264

Senate Bill 264 would have forbidden an eviction moratorium during an emergency. That means that during a pandemic with many losing jobs and 1 in 3 Kentuckians renting their homes, SB 264 would have exposed renters to eviction and potential homelessness.

House Bill 570 was a broader bill though it also included limits on the governor's authority to protect renters during an emergency.
