Voter Empowerment

by KFTC Staff last modified August-20-2008 01:57 PM

We work to make our communities better by addressing environmental, social and economic justice issues.  However, success in these campaigns often  relies on having elected officials who listen to the people.  KFTC has begun making bold moves toward having a substantial impact on elections by registering voters, educating the public about issues, and mobilizing voters on Election Day.

"Your Vote Matters"

Angela Perry

Voting is very important because it chooses who represents you. I've been voting since I was 18. I just thought it was my right. Sometimes people of color didn't have that right so I thought it was my right when I was 18. I am very proud when I vote, I feel like I'm making a difference. I take my kids with me when I vote and I always tell them that it's important. Even if your person doesn't win, it's still your right.  Your vote does count.
