  1. As a student leader, you are aware that there is an emphasis on diversity issues at UK. What are some issues related to diversity that you believe are apparent on campus, and what do you plan to do to create change?

  2. In dealing with diversity, I believe one of the most important issues is having enough outlets for students to be involved. Promoting diversified clubs and organizations and giving them the proper funding to allow students to be able to join and have a voice on campus is a top priority of mine.

  3. What are your plans to help create an end to sexual violence and promote safety on campus?

  4. This winter, I was able to work with the VIP center and become a member of SEEDS. I plan on making more SEEDS conferences readily available throughout the school year for students to be able to participate in. All students feeling safe while on UK’s campus is a top priority of mine.

  5. In light of the recent budget issues in state government, what action should Student Government take to help maintain affordable higher education?

  6. Our Student Government has already done a wonderful job keeping good relations with not only the administration at UK, but also the state government in Frankfort. The Student Government should continue to effectively communicate the needs of students and the importance of secondary education when there are questions of budget cuts.

  7. What action, if any, do you believe is appropriate for Student Government to take to increase voter education and participation both in on-campus elections, and general elections?

  9. What are your plans with working side by side with landlords and the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government on off campus student housing?

  10. I want to make sure students are being treated fairly through off campus housing by working with community leaders to make sure that is possible.

  11. Leaders often face the struggle of understanding the people they represent. UK has a very diverse student body in terms or race, class, gender identity, culture, ethnicity, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, and ability status. What measures will you take to educate yourself on these issues? In what ways will you commit yourself to better understand and represent this diverse student body?

  12. After becoming a member of SEEDS and attending different events for groups like the MSA, while also being a part of UK athletics, I understand what diverse a student body we have at UK. If elected, my main goal would be to listen to the many different concerns that these diverse student organizations have and become more aware of what they embody in order to be able to represent them in the best way possible.

  13. What are your thoughts on improving sustainability on campus? Considering current green issues such as recycling, renewable energy, and biking. What plans do you have to make UK a more green-friendly university?

  14. I would like to work hand in hand with different groups on campus like Green Thumb to educate myself about these on campus issues. I think the Green Thumb Environmental Club can help teach the Student Government about different concerns that can help improve sustainability involving green issues.

  15. What is your response to the recent research proposal to log sections of UK-owned Robinson Forest? Would you be willing to voice a student opinion different from your own to higher administrative positions at UK?
