Using the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds wisely:  An Opportunity Kentucky Cannot Afford to Miss

President Obama has stated that the stimulus package will help establish a green economy in the U.S.  Just how much of this money is coming to Kentucky, how are our elected leaders planning to use Kentucky’s “green economy” funds, and how can you express your opinion about how the funds should be spent?

$665 million or more of Kentucky’s $3.2 billion in direct funding from the stimulus package will go to transportation, energy and workforce investment projects in the next two years. This offers our state the greatest chance in recent history to start transitioning away from our reliance on dirty coal and towards a sustainable energy economy founded on good green jobs. It will take our collective voice to move our leaders towards this vision.

The information on these pages will help you voice your opinion about how Kentucky can use federal stimulus funds in the areas of energy, transportation and workforce investment to grow a greener, cleaner, healthier future for all.
