Leadership Development
community leaders who can help build a better Kentucky.
We welcome your leadership.
"I try to share the wealth,
what I’ve learned, with folks."
Kentuckians
For The Commonwealth, we’ll lay the tools out on the table for
you. If you ask KFTC, “I need information on something,” they’ll
help you find it. But they won’t do it for me – I have to do it.
I try to share the wealth, what I’ve learned, with folks. I try to
steer them in the right direction. Try to give them hope, give them
faith that you can do something about it. Lots of people here in
eastern Kentucky, they feel like there’s no hope, that its not going to
get better. But it can get better. I believe that. I won’t stop believing that.

The
best advice I can give to someone new to theorganization is to stick
with the group. You will find your niche! KFTC recognizes the many
different talents people bring to the organization. If speaking in
public terrifies you, you don't have to volunteer to lobby in
Frankfort. You can start a letter-writing campaign or draft petitions.
If you feel like you lack writing ability, you can help do research or
make posters. There is a place for you and an important job
you have the ability to do.
