What do we do?
The central Kentucky chapter is a vibrant, diverse, and exciting place to be! We get together and hold events/trainings/workshops for many different reasons; to help people participate, to empower individuals, to try and overcome racism and other forms of discrimination, to foster democratic values, to fight to challenge and change unjust institutions, win issues that affect the common welfare, to communicate a message of what is possible and shift our worldview, and finally, to have fun!
Here are some examples:

Tabling at festivals and community events to share with folks what we're working on and how they can get involved.

Grassroots lobbying at the capitol to tell our elected officials what we care about and to hold them accountable.

Hold film festivals to educate people about our issues and promote dialogue.

Annual I love mountains old time music showcase to raise awareness about the destruction of the Appalachian region and to celebrate Appalachian culture.

Chili cook offs to raise money for our work and to have fun!
Craft nights to make posters and banners for our rallies and actions.

Get out the vote!

"Singing for Democracy" A restore the vote gospel festival at Imani Baptist Church

Meet with our elected officials and tell them about our concerns.
