Chapters
Local chapters are the building blocks of KFTC’s power and key to our democratic process. They are the primary place where members join KFTC and engage in activities to challenge injustices and improve their communities. They are where leaders emerge, develop and practice skills.
KFTC chapters form in counties where a group of 15 or more members want to become a formal part of KFTC. Once accepted by KFTC’s Steering Committee, chapters have a right to share the organization’s resources (staff, information, power), decision-making process and responsibilities. Each chapter has a great deal of automony, choosing their own issues and strategies consistent with KFTC's goals. Most chapters are formed along county lines but they can be larger if there are good reasons why that makes sense.

The KFTC Steering Committee is made up of one representative from each chapter along with our statewide officers.
When our chapters work together across county lines, then the effots of each is strengthened and we accomplish even more.
