Liberation Theology and Spirituality in Community Organizing | Kentuckians For The Commonwealth

Liberation Theology and Spirituality in Community Organizing

Join us in the new year for a four week series exploring faith and spirituality in activism and community organizing co-sponsored by the Central Kentucky Chapter of Kentuckians For The Commonwealth and the Kentucky Workers League Interfaith group.

The goal of our series is to help activists/organizers find compassion and embrace our own spiritualities in a political world often driven by rage and hopelessness. We will educate ourselves on: Liberation Theology histories, practices, and attitudes; Liberation Theology and spiritual organizers, their strategies, practices, and how we might learn from them; Seeking to understand others by using non-violent principles and practices from these spiritualities in hope to be more grounded, peaceful, and resilient activists.

All are invited to participate regardless of religious or non-religious beliefs. This is a space to learn, listen, be curious, inquire, experience, and explore. And everyone is asked to be open and respectful to all who are participating.
