General Assembly 2019: What Happened, What's Next Legislative Debrief

KFTC is working for a healthy democracy – one in which our votes matter, people have access to our lawmakers and halls of government, and information is shared freely between our government and the people it should represent.

In the past few months, grassroots leaders worked for a healthy democracy by engaging in the legislative session. We showed up, we lobbied, we called and wrote our legislators, we shared our stories with lawmakers and strangers and neighbors. Mostly, we built power and we built community. So what’s next?

Join us Wednesday, April 3 for a General Assembly debrief webinar. Together, we’ll celebrate the victories and the great work that grassroots members did in Frankfort and at home. And we’ll mourn the losses on legislation that we fought hard against. We’ll also cover the following:

-- Debrief of our work on solar energy, economic justice, Voting Rights, Black Lung benefits, reproductive justice and more
-- Updates on what’s next for the legislation that Gov. Bevin recently signed into law
-- What worked? What was powerful? What gaps we can fill next year? (We want to hear from you!)
-- How can we continue to build governing power into the next election cycle and legislative session?
