Death Row Exoneree: Sabrina Butler

Sabrina Butler

On Wednesday, April 8th, Mississippi death row exoneree Sabrina Butler Porter will visit the EKU campus in Richmond to share her story. Butler was a teenager when she was sentenced to death for the abuse and murder of her infant son. After spending three years on death row, and five years in prison, Butler was exonerated when investigators determined her son died from natural causes.

She will share her story in a 5 p.m. presentation in O'Donnell Hall of the Whitlock Building. The event is free and open to the public.

Her visit to EKU is being coordinated by the student organization Young Americans for Liberty. The Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty is a co-sponsor of Butler's visit to Kentucky.
