The Scott County Chapter of KFTC has an intense schedule of events this month, including some field work around the recycling campaign that we wrapped up about an hour ago (pictures below).

 

Our most central event coming up is our "I Scream Social Justice" Ice Cream Social one week from Saturday, at which we'll celebrate KFTC's 30th anniversary with ice cream and fun.  We're asking all of our members to help spread the word about this.

Saturday, August 13th - Petitioning at the Recycling Center in Georgetown. 10:30am to 11:30am. Headed up by Marylou and Homer White. You can also print your own materials from here.

Thursday, August 18th - Planning for the "I Scream Social Justice" in 2 days. 7pm at the Georgetown College McCandliss House on the corner of Mulberry Street and Jackson Street

Saturday, Aug 20th – "I Scream Social Justice" Ice Cream Social in Georgetown. In the community garden at the Georgetown College McCandliss House on the corner of Mulberry Street and Jackson Street. 7pm to 8:30pm. Come on out for ice cream and fun, and make a small donation to renew your membership to KFTC.  Co-Hosted by Homer and Marylou White, Heather Drake, Matt Doolin, and Filly Tierney.  You can also download a half-sheet invitation Here. 

Wednesday, August 24th - First Georgetown City Recycling Committee Meeting - 5pm at City Hall. 

Thursday, August 25th - Thursday Night Live - 5:30pm to 6:05pm in downtown Georgetown. KFTC members will bring petitions and flyers and talk to the folks at the weekly concert, then sit down and enjoy some local music. You can also print your own materials from here.

Saturday, August 27th – KFTC 30th Anniversary Event in Irvine, KY

Sunday, August 28th - Statewide Voting Rights Meeting and Action in Georgetown. 2pm-6pm. More information to come!
