Immigrants' rights group stands with (and feeds) Kentucky Risers
Filed Under:
Our friends in the immigrant community came to show solidarity with Kentucky Rising by sharing twenty Mexican dinners with the folks in the Governor's office today.
They collaborated with others who wanted to show support, hosting a gathering on the Capitol steps. Below is a photo of Freddy Peralta, of the Kentucky Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (KCIRR), affirming, "We have been fighting together for a long time. This is about building a better United States."
Thank you, KCIRR!
Thanks

I can't express how much it meant to have this support from Freddy and other members of the KY Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (KCIRR). They were the first ones to call us inside the capitol on Friday night and offer assistance and solidarity. Freddy proposed inviting people to show solidarity on Sunday afternoon outside the Capitol, and he and others provided a wonderful hot meal to the protesters inside. Freddy explained that solidarity means more than just supporting another person's struggle. It means understanding that our struggles for justice are one and the same. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
thanks

You all you can't know how much you lifted our spirits. Not to mention the wonderful food.
