Counties and Cities That Get Direct Funding

Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant

These funds are intended for uses that reduce fossil fuel emissions, reduce energy use and increase energy efficiency.  The following cities and counties will receive direct funding from the federal government for this block grant. Applications from these areas are due June 26th, 2009.

Transportation

The following areas will receive direct funding for transportation projects.  Some cities have already submitted applications for the money, while others are currently in the process.  3% of the money should be used for projects that enhance pedestrian access, such as building walking trails and biking trails.

Workforce Investment Board Direct Funding

The programs funded by this money are not new. As a result, Kentucky did not have to submit a spending plan for approval. However, the stimulus encourages states to use this money to equip workers with new skills for a green economy.
