Voting Rights Bill Hearing on Tuesday

We've had a lot of at-home meetings with Senators lately, talking to them about our campaign to restore voting rights for former felons who have served their debt to society.

Partially as a result of that, our Voting Rights bill will get a hearing for discussion only (not a vote) on Tuesday (Sept 22nd) at 1pm in Capitol Annex room 171 in Frankfort!

It's an awkward time of day, but if you can join us and bring some friends, that would be great.

Also, you can call to leave a message for your legislators beforehand at  1-800-372-7181.  The line is open 8am to 4:30pm Monday – Friday.  Leave a message for "Members of Senate the State and Local Government Committee."  A good message might be "Please support Voting Rights for Former Felons in your committee meeting on Tuesday."

You can also leave the same message for the "House Elections and Constitutional Amendments Committee" too (both committees will be meeting together for this discussion).

If your Senator or Representative is on the committee, it would be great if you could make a more personal contact with them as well.
