Conference Logistics

We strongly encourage you to participate in the entire weekend, starting on Friday at 7 pm and running through Sunday at noon. However, we understand that may not be possible in all cases. To help with our planning, please let us know which sessions you plan to attend:

Saturday afternoon workshops and activity (1:30-5:00 pm)

Saturday concert (7:30-9:00 pm in Lynch)

Sunday morning workshops and final session (9 am to noon)

Meals
We will provide coffee and breakfast snacks each morning, as well as lunch and dinner on Saturday. For other meals, you are on your own.

Optional offerings while you are in Harlan County
We are working to organize several optional side-trips for visitors to Harlan County. Let us know if you are interested in participating in one of the following options. We will follow-up with more information if enough people sign up and the details all work out. These trips would take place from 1-5 pm on Friday, April 19th. Your registration fee does not cover the costs of these activities. For example, you would be expected to pay you own way on the zip line or the tour of Portal 31. If you are interested, please choose one of the following options:

Optional excursions

A tour of the historic towns of Benham and Lynch, including the Coal Mining Museum and a tour of Portal 31, an underground mine.

A tour of other cultural and recreational sites in Harlan County, including a trip on the Black Mountain Thunder Zip Line!

A hike in Blanton Forest, an old growth nature preserve on the side of Pine Mountain.

A self-guided tour of local art galleries in Letcher and Harlan Counties.

Cost

Registration for this event is a sliding scale of $5 to $100 per person. Invited artists, speakers and workshop presenters are welcome, but not expected, to pay a registration fee. After you submit this form you will be taken to a page that will explain your payment options.
